Granite Maintenance & Care
Quality granite worktops are fully sealed before installation. To maintain water resistance, they should ideally be resealed at least once yearly.
Despite being one of the hardest stone types, granite is not impervious — heavy impact can still mark the surface. Granite’s hardness comes from the minerals it formed with, which also give it a wide variety of natural colours. Differences in colour can sometimes affect hardness, meaning some areas may scratch or mark more easily than others.

Sealing and Durability
Granite is low in porosity and generally resistant to staining from acids and chemicals. With a heat resistance of around 450°F (232°C) and upward, we still recommend using trivets and placemats for hot or cold pots, pans, and plates. Due to its high quartz content, granite is almost twice as hard as glass and extremely scratch resistant. However, using chopping boards will protect both the stone and your utensils.
Quality granite worktops should last a lifetime with proper care. To clean, simply wipe the surface with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, then dry.
